It’s time to open up the trophy case again, because the 300 just walked home with another one.

Kelley Blue Book has announced its picks for the “10 Best Family Cars of 2012.” The list is populated by vehicles that are family approved in terms of safety, comfort, child-friendliness, and consumer ratings. Transportation costs plays a huge role in getting on the list. It makes sense that the winners, Chrysler 300 included, were the ones with efficient fuel economy and cost, financing, and insurance fees.

Saad Chehab, President and CEO if Chrysler Brand, Chrysler Group LLC, said of the award, “At a time when the nation is regaining confidence and that fighting American ‘can-do’ spirit, the new Chrysler 300 series sedans reward these hard working folks with the world-class engineering, craftsmanship, safety and technology features that were once only found on high end sedans costing two or even three times the price.” He continued, ““We’re honored that Kelley Blue Book’s kbb.com editors scrutinized our Chrysler 300 flagship sedan and recognized it for its quality and precision engineering that were once limited to the privileged few. Chrysler 300 Sedan

Aside

Chrysler 300 features a classic design that’s been redefined in the way only a car imported from Detroit could have. The rear spoiler gives homage to the tail-finned look of the 1950s. A raked back windshield combines with a forward leaning fascia help to make the 300 aerodynamic and give off an aggressive stance to the exterior design. On top of all that, the 300 also makes sure to make use of all the traditional and iconic designs of Chrysler in the one of a kind grille.

The Chrysler 300 is a beauty to watch drive by. Built with confidence and purpose, this Sedan has a jeweled C-shape LEDs that give not only a distinctive look, but was something that only European luxury cars had until now. Also available to aid the distinctive look of the 300 is options such as Bi-Xenon HID head lamps that are capable of generating more than three times the normal output of halogen headlamps. The headlights are all part of a bigger package, the Adaptive Forward Lighting system. This system turns the lights in the direction that the driver is steering which enhances the visibility of a night time ride. It even takes the speed and angle into its calculations to make sure that you headlight is always in the proper direction to give the best lightning for the road ahead.

The inside of a Chrysler 300 shows that quality runs deep. Refinement is the word on the mind when gazing at the interior. A wealth of features make sure to catch the eye and show that the 300 is designed for comfort without sacrificing any features. That can be seen in the seating material and, even more so, in a feature like the instrument panel. This classic American design comes with LED back light gauges that add an atmospheric sapphire-blue glow to the read-outs. Truly eye popping and something that can only be seen with the class of the 300.

Beauty of design is also apparent in the things that eyes can’t see. The heart of the Chrysler 300 comes in two forms, the V6 and V8. Both of these engines offer drivers plenty of power, complete control, and unparalleled efficiency. The 3.6 Pentastar V6 produces 292 horsepower and has a fuel efficiency of 19 gallons in the city and 31 on the highway. For the other type, the 5.7L Hemi V8 provides 363 horsepower and 16 gallons in the city and 25 on the highway. That being said, the 300 uses these engines to provide the ability to go from 0 to 60 in no time. Both engines are a reflection of quality without compromise.

The final aspect of the 300’s design comes in the safety features. An available part of the 300 is the ParkSense Rear Park Assist System. This offers both front and rear parking assistant with sensors that alert the driver if they detect any presences up to 3.9 feet away from the front and 6.5 feet away from the back. To complement this, the 300 also has advanced multistage front airbags along with supplemental front-seat thorax side airbags. Supplement side curtain airbags are also available to protect any passengers.
