Chrysler Starts New Website for Job-Hunters

As the economic story of the bailed out auto industry continues, Chrysler is one of the ones that has consistently reported a strong comeback. Due to that, they have been able to increase workers at their plants and add new shifts to keep up with the new influx of demand. Chrysler is still looking for more people to join their team and to do that, they have created the only website in the big three of car makers to be accepting applications for jobs.

According to the Detroit Free Press, the new website, www.chryslercarerrs.com, is taking applications for both hourly and salaried workers. They are looking to fill 2,350 manufacturing jobs within the next year in both Detroit and Toledo. This differs from the other companies in that Chrysler isn’t using referrals from employees. The auto maker is hiring only from applications made online.

The new site offers a change from the previous method Chrysler used. The old way of doing things was meant to avoid having too many applications at once, so the openings would only appear for a short time, forcing applicants to keep a constant eye open to spring at a moments notice when a job would appear. Now the applicants simply register with their interest for certain jobs, even if they are not posted on the site. Chrysler will then send them an email when a position that matches their skills and interest has an opening.

For anyone looking to be employed by the auto industry now that they are coming back from the brink, this is certainly something to be excited about. It’s a much easier way of being able to find the job you want without keeping a hawk’s eye on the computer screen and pressing refresh every two minutes.

All of the Chrysler vehicles are available for viewing online at the Bayside Chrysler Jeep Dodge show-room. Like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter to see the current news as it happens.
