Eminem, Eastwood, And Detroit: A Look Back At Chrysler’s Best Super Bowl Ads

Chrysler Super Bowl Eminem

Chrysler is going all out for Super Bowl XLIX, premiering not one but three new Chrysler ads during the broadcast. They are keeping the commercials tightly under wraps for Sunday’s game, but for now, let’s take a look back at the big Chrysler Super Bowl commercials of the past five years.

“Man’s Last Stand” – 2010

Chrysler’s big Super Bowl spot was “Man’s Last Stand” which specifically featured the Dodge Charger. This is more humorous than the subsequent Chrysler ads, and the best line is easily, “I will watch your vampire TV shows with you.”

“Born Of Fire” – 2011

“Born Of Fire” came out of the gate in 2011 and took the ad world by storm, winning numerous awards and accolades. More importantly, though, it was a powerful reflection of Chrysler and Detroit defying the odds and finding a comeback.

“Halftime In America” – 2012

When Chrysler gets a star to narrate their Super Bowl ads, they only get the best. Clint Eastwood’s “Halftime In America” is a Super Bowl classic.

“Farmer” – 2013

This love letter to the American farmer featured some absolutely gorgeous shots of the heartland and Ram’s powerful trucks in action. “Farmer” captured audiences’ attentions without talking animals, sexualized imagery, or childish humor usually found in Super Bowl commercials.

“America’s Import” 2014

“America’s Import” asked the question, “Is there anything more American than America?” Bob Dylan’s narration combined with the imagery of diners, Marilyn Monroe, biker gangs, and Chrysler employees hard at work was unforgettable.

Chrysler’s Tipton Plant Finally Up and Running

ID-10080211

Seven years is a long time to wait for anything. If that wait is for a plant that Chrysler built to swing into full action, the time would be unbearable. Yet, patience and perseverance has paid off as a plant that Chrysler constructed is now up and running and helping the people of Tipton get back to work.

The plant in question has been under construction for seven years. To the frustration of the people in the area and Chrysler, the plant has been through two false starts. This is because of a deal falling apart between Chrysler and German part maker Getrag that would’ve gotten the plant up and running earlier. However, the bankruptcy of both companies back in 2009 squashed the plant from opening.

That’s all in the past now. Chrysler is pack up and running and has been investing more money into the Tipton plant to get it ready for production on transmissions. Two hundred people had already been working in the plant and with the changes being made, 850 more will be working before the end of the year.

WTHR.com is reporting that the slew of new workers into the Tipton plant is having more effects on the community. Local businesses have reported a spiked increase in customers as their breakfast rushes have picked up to accommodate the workers on their way into the plant.

Chrysler has been working hard to get their plants up and running at full capacity. The benefits of this employment extends to not just the corporation but also the communities that once depended on these plants for their economy. Good to see another plant up and running thanks to the demand of the consumer being met by the company.

Chrysler Group CEO to Dedicate Tipton Transmission Plant

chryslerChrysler Group has announced that next month, Sergio Marchionne will be in Tipton, Indiana to dedicate the new Tipton Transmission Plant.

Back in February last year, Chrysler Group acquired the facility and invested $162 million in the plant for assembling the nine-speed transmission. This investment was expected to create an estimated 850 jobs.

In the past few years, Chrysler Group has continued investing in American facilities and American jobs, and in 2014, their investments have been seeing fantastic results. Back in March, Chrysler celebrated the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant adding 800 new jobs to keep up with production on the 2015 Chrysler 200. Before that, demand for the Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Cherokee was so high that the Jeep plant in Toledo hired approximately 1,000 new part-time employees.

With Chrysler Group sales still on the rise, it wouldn’t be surprising if other plants announce plans for more new hires in the next few months, particularly with summer only a few months away.
