Chrysler Group CEO to Dedicate Tipton Transmission Plant

chryslerChrysler Group has announced that next month, Sergio Marchionne will be in Tipton, Indiana to dedicate the new Tipton Transmission Plant.

Back in February last year, Chrysler Group acquired the facility and invested $162 million in the plant for assembling the nine-speed transmission. This investment was expected to create an estimated 850 jobs.

In the past few years, Chrysler Group has continued investing in American facilities and American jobs, and in 2014, their investments have been seeing fantastic results. Back in March, Chrysler celebrated the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant adding 800 new jobs to keep up with production on the 2015 Chrysler 200. Before that, demand for the Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Cherokee was so high that the Jeep plant in Toledo hired approximately 1,000 new part-time employees.

With Chrysler Group sales still on the rise, it wouldn’t be surprising if other plants announce plans for more new hires in the next few months, particularly with summer only a few months away.

Chrysler at SEMA 2013

Chrysler 300S Mopar-Modified SEMA Show Vehicle

When Chrysler shows up to SEMA, it brings with it their talent and skill at impressing the crowd. At this year’s show, they really turned up the heat providing something for fans of every brand to drool over for the next few months.

Through the brilliant engineers at Mopar, the parts and service arm of Chrysler, they have brought new forms to their most popular vehicles. The most notable of which is garnering the most praise is Chrysler bringing back the ‘Scat Performance” pack for the Dodge Challenger.

Along with this new performance pack is the Shaker hood for the Challenger as well. The reason for that name? The air intake shakes with the movement of the engine.

The Scat performance package will be available for the Charger, Dart, and Challenger.

Plenty of other spruced up vehicles are being offered, from SRT to Jeep, and we’re covering all of them on the main blog on Bayside Chrysler Jeep Dodge, so be sure to check it out for more future coverage.

2013 Chrysler Town & Country is the “Highest Ranked Minivan in Initial Quality”

overview_21J.D. Power has something known as the US Initial Quality Study, or the IQS. The IQS is a study that is assembled from the responses of more than 83,442 auto owners who have one thing in common, that their vehicle is a 2013 model-year.

They are asked about what they think about the vehicle, are there any defects worth noting? Is there any design issues? J.D. Power is looking to find out their overall perception of the vehicle’s quality.

The reason I bring this up is because the list for 2013 has been released and the 2013 Chrysler Town & Country is the “Highest Ranked Minivan in Initial Quality.”

Hard not to see why, it’s one of the best selling minivans ever.  The 2013 model of the Town & Country includes leather seating to provide everyone from driver to rider with a comfortable drive.  There’s also the “Stow ‘n Go” seating that helps families by having more storage space.  Another key feature to aid families, The Town & Country earned the 2012 IIHS Top Safety pick for its plethora of safety features.
