Chrysler 300 Wins Big with Edmunds Most Want Car Awards

Edmunds’ Most Wanted awards have honored the Chrysler 300 as the winner of its Large Car segment.

The 2018 Edmunds Most Wanted Awards is given for 17 different segments.  The way the winner is chosen is by analyzing the data from the first nine months of 2017 for all models on sale during that period.  From there Edmunds checked their site activity to see the vehicles in the different segments and their highest sales and the lowest average days-to-turn.  Then rankings for each were then weighed to figure out the winner of each category.

“Bold and aggressive, the Chrysler 300 stands out in a class of largely look-alike sedans, and its originality makes it one of the most popular large cars on the market,” said Jessica Caldwell, the executive director of industry analysis at Edmunds.

The 2018 Chrysler 300 3.60-liter V-6 models are available with the segment’s most technologically advanced all-wheel-drive system.  It also features class-exclusive innovations with the Uconnect 4 system.

Chrysler Pacifica Wins Innovation Award for Weight Reduction

The Chrysler Pacifica has been consistently awarded for its various features since it has been released.  It’s the new age of the minivan with the Pacifica leading the charge and few vehicles have been as universally awarded in such a short amount of time.  The Pacifica has another award to add to the shelf, but this one is for an achievement the minivan pulled off that doesn’t get much buzz.  The Pacifica made an achievement in weight reduction.

The fifth annual Altair Enlighten Awards have awarded the Pacifica for innovation in automotive lightweighting.

“The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica is a testament to our team’s engineering capability.  It’s not only lighter than the vehicle it replaced; it’s longer, wider and more efficient.  The Pacifica has also earned superior safety ratings and widespread media acclaim.  We are proud to add the Altair Enlighten Award to its list of team achievements.”

The Pacifica was able to reduce its weight with a blend of high-strength steel, aluminum, and magnesium in its body structure that is nearly 250 pounds lighter than the model it is replacing.  This helps the Pacifica have an improved fuel economy on the highway and does not sacrifice safety.
