Chrysler 300 Wins Big with Edmunds Most Want Car Awards

Edmunds’ Most Wanted awards have honored the Chrysler 300 as the winner of its Large Car segment.

The 2018 Edmunds Most Wanted Awards is given for 17 different segments.  The way the winner is chosen is by analyzing the data from the first nine months of 2017 for all models on sale during that period.  From there Edmunds checked their site activity to see the vehicles in the different segments and their highest sales and the lowest average days-to-turn.  Then rankings for each were then weighed to figure out the winner of each category.

“Bold and aggressive, the Chrysler 300 stands out in a class of largely look-alike sedans, and its originality makes it one of the most popular large cars on the market,” said Jessica Caldwell, the executive director of industry analysis at Edmunds.

The 2018 Chrysler 300 3.60-liter V-6 models are available with the segment’s most technologically advanced all-wheel-drive system.  It also features class-exclusive innovations with the Uconnect 4 system.

Chrysler Group’s March Sales Exceed Predictions

Chrysler_Group_LLCEdmunds predicted that Chrysler Group would see an 11.1 percent sales growth in March, but as it turned out, they were wrong. Chrysler Group would exceed their expectations with a 13 percent sales growth, making March the 48th consecutive month of year-over-year sales gains.

Overall, Chrysler Group ended up selling 193,915 units compared to the predicted 190,684 units. Broken down, the first quarter sales in 2014 compared to 2013 were up by 11 percent. Nearly all of the brands within Chrysler Group posted significant gains with Jeep’s March sales up a stunning 47 percent, make it Jeep’s best month ever.

In March, six of Chrysler Group’s vehicles also set new sales records including the Jeep Compass, Jeep Patriot, Fiat 500L, Dodge Journey, Jeep Wrangler, and Ram Cargo Van. The Compass, Patriot, and Fiat 500L, and Journey all had their best monthly sales ever, where the Wrangler and Ram Cargo Van set records for their best March sales.

Reid Bigland, Head of U.S. Sales, was pleased with the March sales numbers, stating, “We are entering the spring selling season on a high note as our Jeep and FIAT brands recorded their best sales months ever and Chrysler Group extended its streak in March to 48-consecutive months of year-over-year sales increases. Our Ram pickup truck posted its best March sales in 10 years.”

Chrysler Ranked Top 10 Car Brand of 2012

Total Car Score has released its list of the top 10 car brands of 2012, and this year, Chrysler beat out BMW and Kia to earn the #8 spot on the list.

The list’s rankings were based purely on reviews and performance. Total Car Score, also known as the Rotten Tomatoes of car review sites, collects reviews from the most trusted car critics including Consumer Reports, Edmunds, The Car Connection, and MSN Autos, and they calculate a composite score based on those reviews. Chrysler made the top 10 list right alongside other top-of-the-line brands like Infiniti, Mercedes-Bez, and Lexus.

For Chrysler, this is an amazing accomplishment. They are the second most improved brand on the list with an overall score of 79.78 and 3.71 point improvement from 2011. Only a short time ago, some people had counted Chrysler out, and yet here it is on the top 10 brands of 2012. Chrysler’s comeback continues, and it shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
