Chrysler Creates Program to Help Drivers After Hurricane Sandy

Living in New York for the past week hasn’t been easy. The aftermath of Hurricane Sandy is still being felt in neighborhoods that have been without power for well over a week and Governor Cuomo is putting the damage estimates near 33 billion. It’s been a long and rough road and some of the worst photos to come out during and after the storm was watching numerous vehicles washed away in the chaos. Thankfully, automakers like Chrysler have decided to step up and help the rebuilding process along by offering a helping hand to the drivers who need it most.

According to Insideline.com, Chrysler will be starting a new program for residents in FEMA designated disaster areas. Eligible drivers can get a 500 dollar cash allowance coupon to put towards the purchase or a least of the majority of 2012 or 2013 models for Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, and Fiat. The program will be running up until January 2nd.

Along with hurricane aid, Chrysler has a new program for military vets in the Veterans Day Military Appreciation Bonus Cash. This will also offer $500 toward the purchase or leasing of vehicles in the Chrysler family. The program reaches out to inactive military reservists and vets who have been honorably discharged. It will run through November 17th.

Sandy left a wave of destruction in its path, and it’s good to know that there are companies out there helping people out in a time where any assistance is needed. It’s never easy to lose something like a car in extreme weather, but thanks to Chrysler and other automakers, there are options out there to help ease the pain.

Queens was one of the areas hit and has been designated a disaster area by FEMA. Go online to view our Chrysler inventory at Bayside Chrysler Jeep Dodge. Be sure to also like our Facebook page and follow us on Twitter for more monthly deals on Chrysler vehicles.

Chrysler’s September Sales Stay Strong

With the election right around the corner, the economy is one of the most important talking points at the moment. One in particular has been heavily scrutinized by the President’s opponents, and that is the bailout he gave to the auto industry. Since then, however, it’s been very hard to argue with the results. The US auto industry has bounced back in a force unseen for a long time. Month after month has seen auto sales grow and September is turning out to be no different. The trend continues for Chrysler and their products.

According to the Detroit Free Press, Chrysler is enjoying very strong increases from the previous year. In fact, it’s the best September they’ve had as a company since 2007. It’s also the 30th straight month of exceeding last-years sales. The increase came out to around an 11.5 percent increase. The vehicles sold totaled around 142,000 with the new 2013 Dodge Dart having an increase of 18 percent.

Reid Bigland, President and CEO of Dodge, said about the sales figures in September, “Going forward with our current product lineup, record low interest rates, and a stable US economy, we remain optimistic about the health of the US new-vehicle sales industry and our position in it.”

Chrysler Scores Big in August Sales Numbers

The election is really heating up with the DNC coming to end tonight with President Obama giving a grand speech to excite his base to come out and vote for him come November. It’s right on the heels of Republicans making the case for electing Mitt Romney. Part of that case rests on the President’s handling of the auto bailout years ago. He’s received both praise and criticism for the act, but it’s hard to argue with the end result of the auto industry seeing the best sales they have had in years. In what maybe some great news for President Obama and bad news for Romney, August’s numbers point to the President deserving the praise for his actions on the auto bailout.

A post on Bloomberg is showing that the August auto sales saw light-vehicle deliveries at the fastest rate since the 2009 program “cash for clunkers” was enacted. The sales of the month put the industry on the path of having over 14 million sales for the year, the best year since 2007. That’s a 10 percent gain for the third year in a row, which is also the first streak of this nature since 1973.

Chrysler was at the head of the sales charge. Their sales had a 14 percent increase from the previous month. This is higher than the analyst were predicting. The higher sales are due in part to the Dodge Dart finally making it’s large splash on the nation. The sales of the hot new vehicle almost quadrupled from July’s numbers. That gives Chrysler a winning streak of upwards sales, the 29th month to do so.

Alec Gutierrez, an analyst at Kelley Blue Book, is quoted as saying, “We expect Chrysler to continue to gobble up incremental share in the compact-car segment. Chrysler is still trying to get enough selection of variety out to their dealers to satisfy demand. Their product portfolio has improved.”

Chrysler is charging full steam ahead. The monthly good news of sales still continues. Be ready to hear plenty more of the positive sales as the election heats up, the auto bailout has been at the heart of this debate and this is just more ammunition for the political machine to use.
