It’s been teased for a while and even been spotted while out for test-drives, but it is finally here.  The long awaited, and much anticipated, 2015 Chrysler 200 is making it debut.

Chrysler made the announcement at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show.  And this is one new model that many auto critics have been wanting for a long time.  While the 200 had a following with fans, it has been in need of a new update to get people really talking about it again.

The 200 name is about the only thing this new model of the 200 has in common with its predecessors.  Chrysler opted to do a rebuild of the vehicle rather than just update a few features.  From the inside and out, the 2015 Chrysler 200 is a whole new beast than the previous years.

All of the latest and greatest features of Chrysler are included in the new 200 such as nine-speed transmission and even an option all-wheel drive.  The popular and award-winning Uconnect system is also included with a 8.4-inch touchscreen.

For the engine, the 200 comes with two options.  One is the 2.4-liter Tigershark MultiAir II four-cylinder engine with 184-horsepower.  The other is the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine with 295-horsepower.

The 2015 Chrysler 200 is set to be available in late spring and the base price starts at $22,695.  For more information on how to get one when it goes on sale, contact us at Bayside Chrysler Jeep Dodge.  Be sure to like us on Facebook as well as follow us on Twitter to see our monthly offers on parts and new and pre-owned vehicles.

2015 Chrysler 200 Spy Photos

Cue the dramatic music because the auto spies have discovered an uncovered 2015 Chrysler 200.

As much as I want to believe we have spies working all hours of the day to uncover the secrets at Chrysler, these shots come courtesy of Autonews.com.  The photos they obtained appear to be from a photo shoot for a marketing campaign for the update to the Chrysler 200.

The news of the update has been spread around already but this is the first real look at one.  All that’s been known up to this point is that the 200 would be borrowing from other Chrysler brethren such as the Dodge Dart and Jeep Cherokee’s CUSW platform as well as the new nine-speed transmission.

The 2015 Chrysler 200 will not be skimping out on any features.  The latest technologies that Chrysler has come up with in such as gas-saving will be implemented on the 200.  Chrysler is pushing the 200 to be a major competitor in the market and is hoping that this update will make it stand out.  Keep your eyes peeled for more information as it becomes available on the update to the Chrysler 200.

Get Ready for an All-New Look to the Chrysler 200

exterior_04Chrysler is doing some spring-cleaning.  Of late, they’ve been really pushing change onto their upcoming vehicles.  Take a look at the 2014 Jeep Cherokee and you’ll see just how invested they are in in keeping their vehicles competitive.  Change is never a bad thing.

That same mindset is bringing change to lesser heard about car in their fleet, the Chrysler 200.  In 2011, the Sebring was given the 200 label and, while gaining a boost in sales, never achieved the popularity the auto-maker felt it deserved.

That means its back to the drawing board to see what needs to be done to make the 200 a name in the midsize sedan segment with the 2015 model.

Automobile reports on concepts of the new 200 being shown to attendees of the annual dealer meeting this last October.  What they saw must’ve been quite impressive because it brought the people to their feet.  They quote David Kelleher, who is the owner of a Chrysler Dealership in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania on what he thought of the new 200.  He said it would be a “complete home run.”

Saad Chehab, President and CEO of Chrysler Brand, set the bar high for what he expects from the 200’s new design.  “…if any of us walk into a room and look at the car, is my jaw going to drop?”

The article continues to note that the 200 is being heavily influenced by the competition, such as the 2013 Ford Fusion, 2011 Hyundai Sonata, and the Kia Optima.

There’s no real word on any definite details on what it’ll look like or what the tech specs are, but there’s a belief that it’ll be a variation of the CUSW platform that is already in use with the Dodge Dart and the upcoming 2014 Jeep Cherokee.  The new 200 may be unveiled this fall and be on the sales floor as early as January of 2014.
