2013 Chrysler Town & Country S: Making Minivans Cool

There’s a stereotype attached to the modern mini-van. The chariot of soccer moms and fathers who sold their dreams of sports car in exchange for something practical to drive the kids to school in. I’ve never been one to buy into that philosophy of labeling a minivan as uncool. That definitely has nothing to do with me having to drive my family’s minivan to school my senor year because my older brother took the coupe to college. Chrysler doesn’t think that either.

The new 2013 Chrysler Town and Country S model will be debuted at the 2012 Los Angeles International Auto Show. The “S” model is a family of Chrysler vehicles that are about giving top model looks for the exterior and interior. The Town and County is about showing the versatility in a minivan.

The color choices to show off in range from ‘Brilliant Black’ to ‘Deep Cherry Red.’ The infamous grille comes in black chrome along with black-background Chrysler Winged badges front and rear. The 17-inch aluminum wheels have a polished face and black-painted pockets. All combine to give a sleek and sexy look to what would otherwise been seen as the opposite.

All joking aside, minivans are seen as family vehicles for a reason. That’s why the Town and Country S will come equipped with performance suspension. That adds a great level of handling to the driver. Just a way Chrysler is bringing safety and comfort together when driving.

There’s plenty of more features Chrysler is adding to make sure your family is both protected and safe. The dual screen Blu-Ray system will be a hit with the kids, allowing both the rear seat passengers to watch HD movies on the go. You can even plug in your Xbox or Playstation in to really encourage road trips.

Chrysler Creates Program to Help Drivers After Hurricane Sandy

Living in New York for the past week hasn’t been easy. The aftermath of Hurricane Sandy is still being felt in neighborhoods that have been without power for well over a week and Governor Cuomo is putting the damage estimates near 33 billion. It’s been a long and rough road and some of the worst photos to come out during and after the storm was watching numerous vehicles washed away in the chaos. Thankfully, automakers like Chrysler have decided to step up and help the rebuilding process along by offering a helping hand to the drivers who need it most.

According to Insideline.com, Chrysler will be starting a new program for residents in FEMA designated disaster areas. Eligible drivers can get a 500 dollar cash allowance coupon to put towards the purchase or a least of the majority of 2012 or 2013 models for Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, and Fiat. The program will be running up until January 2nd.

Along with hurricane aid, Chrysler has a new program for military vets in the Veterans Day Military Appreciation Bonus Cash. This will also offer $500 toward the purchase or leasing of vehicles in the Chrysler family. The program reaches out to inactive military reservists and vets who have been honorably discharged. It will run through November 17th.

Sandy left a wave of destruction in its path, and it’s good to know that there are companies out there helping people out in a time where any assistance is needed. It’s never easy to lose something like a car in extreme weather, but thanks to Chrysler and other automakers, there are options out there to help ease the pain.

Queens was one of the areas hit and has been designated a disaster area by FEMA. Go online to view our Chrysler inventory at Bayside Chrysler Jeep Dodge. Be sure to also like our Facebook page and follow us on Twitter for more monthly deals on Chrysler vehicles.

Chrysler Named Top Human Resources Executive

Chrysler is used to winning awards for their cars, but this one is a tad different. Nancy Rae, the Senior Vice President, Human Resources, Chrysler Group, has been given an award by the American Society of Employers. She has been named Human Resources Executive of the Year.

Every year, the ASE looks at several individuals who are in their working lives, and personal lives, outstanding human resource executives. Anyone that gets nominated is then evaluated on their commitment to the HR profession. Their successes of the past and current, including their impact on the lives of others are taken into account as well.

The category for the award that Rae received was in “Organizations with 1,000 or more Michigan Employees.” The ceremony was held at the ASE’s Annual Summit at the Detroit Athletic Club.

Rae has been a vital part of the Chrysler Group Management team. Under her, the company’s workforce has grown by more than 16,000 since 2009. She was in charge of a comprehensive HR strategy to support Chrysler’s high-performance work culture. Rae also is the co-Chair of Chrysler’s Diversity Council.
