Chrysler Enjoys One of its Best Mays Ever

Best May Sales - ChryslerDealerNY - Bayside Chrysler Jeep Dodge

May was another good month for Chrysler.  Sales were up, a 4 percent increase from May of last year.  In fact, May 2015 was the company’s best May sales since 2005.

The strong leader amongst the various brands is till Jeep.  Jeep has been helping Chrysler maintain the sales streak it has been enjoying for now 62 months of year-over-year sales gains.  The brand had a sales increase of 13 percent with May being the best monthly sales ever for Jeep.  The Cherokee and the Wrangler had their best sales months ever and the other winner was the Patriot with it also having the best sales in May.  New for Jeep this month was the Renegade which had its sales increase 5 percent from April.

The other brands faired very well also.  Chrysler was up 32 percent with the new 2015 Chrysler 200 increasing 537 percent from last year.  If there was any proof that people were excited for a new take on the 200, there is some proof right there.  It had the largest year-over-year percentage gain of any FCA US vehicle.  That new model sure did some good in generating sales and excitement with consumers.

Ram truck sales continue to climb.  The ProMaster had its sales increase 12 percent as the whole of Ram trucks increased 8 percent in May.  Like the others, May was the best sales for Ram pickups in 11 years.

And finally Dodge, not to be left out, also had an amazing May.  With a sales increase of 29 percent, this was the brand’s best monthly sales ever.  The winners were the Dodge Dart and the Durango which had an increase of their sales.  The Durango had its best May sales since 2005.

Chrysler Celebrates 39th Month of Year-Over-Year Sales

exterior_04June was a good month for Chrysler. Seven of their vehicles set record sales for the month across all their platforms. It was also the 39th consecutive month of year-over-year sales increases. Here are the vehicles that broke the records for June.

Starting with Jeep, it was the Jeep Wrangler up 12 percent from the previous year, the Compass, up 24 percent, and the Patriot up 20%.

Next up is Chrysler’s own vehicle. The 200 led the pack of makes with a 14 percent increase from 2012.

For Ram trucks, the Cargo Van C/V is up 13 percent from last June.

Lastly, Dodge had the Challenger up 27 percent and the Dodge Dart sold 6, 437 vehicles.

That’s not to say that any vehicle not on this list did poorly by any means. The Grand Cherokee, for example, had its best June in over eight years. It was the #2 seller for all of Chrysler and was up 33 percent from June of 2012.

Ram trucks have been enjoying the fact that the large truck segment is one of the fastest growing segments in the whole industry and pickup sales were 24 percent higher than last year.

Overall, there’s a good reason for the people at Chrysler to be celebrating. Their sales streak continues and in this case even looks better than ever. This is what happens when you give the market quality cars.

Chrysler Hires 200 Workers to Keep Up With Jeep Wrangler Demand

UntitledAided by the popularity of the Jeep Wrangler, Chrysler needs to hire additional workers to fill in shifts at a plant in Ohio.

Over the past few months, sales for the Wrangler and the Wrangler Unlimited have been on the rise.  In order to meet the recent demand for the always popular Jeep vehicles, Chrysler is adding 200 people to the Jeep plant in Toledo Ohio.  The new hires will be beginning their work on April 1st.

130 of the new workers will be offering extra relief to the current work force on the assembly line.  There are two shifts already working hard, each working 10 hours.  Chrysler is not looking to add a third shift, according to autonews.com, due to the paint shop of the plant being at capacity.

Thanks in part to the rebounding economy and car buyers staying loyal to a brand they can trust.  The Wrangler has always been a vehicle that people depend upon.  That can be seen by the amount of Wranglers being produced at the Toledo plant.  It’s more than 200,000 from last year.  U.S. sales rose 16 percent from last year.
