While there hasn’t been an over-abundance of news for the 2015 Chrysler 200, that hasn’t caused for a lack of excitement. It’s the face-lift that the sedan has been needing for a longtime. One of the pieces of news that has not been available yet though is the fuel economy information. Chrysler has just released the official information and it gives even more reasons to be excited about the new 200.

The 2015 Chrysler 200 comes equipped with the standard 2.4-liter Tigershark MultiAir I-4 engine. The EPA rates the engine as 23 miles per gallon in the city and 36 mpg on the highway. The improvement over previous engine is 5 mpg.

The 200 can also come with a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine. The EPA rating on this is 18 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. The engine is also capable of 295 horsepower and has a state-of-the-art-all-wheel-drive system.

With fuel economy ratings of up to 36 miles per gallon and features typically found on more expensive luxury vehicles, the all-new 2015 Chrysler 200 delivers the premium features customers want at a price they can afford,” said Al Gardner, President and CEO – Chrysler Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. “With a standard nine-speed transmission, state-of-the art available all-wheel drive, a choice of two powertrains and interior that will wow drivers and passengers alike, the new Chrysler 200 is raising the bar for what customers should expect from a mid-size sedan.”

Chrysler Group’s March Sales Exceed Predictions

Chrysler_Group_LLCEdmunds predicted that Chrysler Group would see an 11.1 percent sales growth in March, but as it turned out, they were wrong. Chrysler Group would exceed their expectations with a 13 percent sales growth, making March the 48th consecutive month of year-over-year sales gains.

Overall, Chrysler Group ended up selling 193,915 units compared to the predicted 190,684 units. Broken down, the first quarter sales in 2014 compared to 2013 were up by 11 percent. Nearly all of the brands within Chrysler Group posted significant gains with Jeep’s March sales up a stunning 47 percent, make it Jeep’s best month ever.

In March, six of Chrysler Group’s vehicles also set new sales records including the Jeep Compass, Jeep Patriot, Fiat 500L, Dodge Journey, Jeep Wrangler, and Ram Cargo Van. The Compass, Patriot, and Fiat 500L, and Journey all had their best monthly sales ever, where the Wrangler and Ram Cargo Van set records for their best March sales.

Reid Bigland, Head of U.S. Sales, was pleased with the March sales numbers, stating, “We are entering the spring selling season on a high note as our Jeep and FIAT brands recorded their best sales months ever and Chrysler Group extended its streak in March to 48-consecutive months of year-over-year sales increases. Chrysler Group Debuts Six New Models in Vancouver

2015 Chrysler 200 Front GrilleSix new Chrysler models made their British Columbia debuts at the 2014 Vancouver International AutoShow yesterday, including the new 2015 Chrysler 200.

The full line-up of debuts also included the 2014 Dodge Challenger R/T Shaker and Dart Blacktop, the 2014 Jeep Cherokee, the 2014 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel, and the 2014 SRT Viper. The decision to make all of these British Columbia debuts as part of the Vancouver International AutoShow is a sign that Chrysler wants to continue their sales domination from last year. In 2013, Chrysler was the top seller of vehicles in all of British Columbia, and they want to keep the brand and its models in the minds of Vancouver show attendees.

Bob Devlin, Regional Manager of Chrysler Canada Western Business Centre, was grateful to British Columbia and optimistic about the year ahead, stating in a press release from Chrysler, “Our top-three products in the province – Ram 1500, Dodge Grand Caravan and Ram Heavy Duty – helped to propel us to the top of B.C.’s retail sales charts last year. We can’t thank the discerning consumers of British Columbia enough for choosing so many Chrysler Group products. These vehicle debuts in Vancouver today will certainly further expand the appeal of our showrooms to an even wider audience.”

The Vancouver International AutoShow runs from March 25 thru March 30 at the Vancouver Convention Centre. General Admission is $15, and there are discounts for seniors, students, and children.
