Eminem, Eastwood, And Detroit: A Look Back At Chrysler’s Best Super Bowl Ads

Chrysler Super Bowl Eminem

Chrysler is going all out for Super Bowl XLIX, premiering not one but three new Chrysler ads during the broadcast. They are keeping the commercials tightly under wraps for Sunday’s game, but for now, let’s take a look back at the big Chrysler Super Bowl commercials of the past five years.

“Man’s Last Stand” – 2010

Chrysler’s big Super Bowl spot was “Man’s Last Stand” which specifically featured the Dodge Charger. This is more humorous than the subsequent Chrysler ads, and the best line is easily, “I will watch your vampire TV shows with you.”

“Born Of Fire” – 2011

“Born Of Fire” came out of the gate in 2011 and took the ad world by storm, winning numerous awards and accolades. More importantly, though, it was a powerful reflection of Chrysler and Detroit defying the odds and finding a comeback.

“Halftime In America” – 2012

When Chrysler gets a star to narrate their Super Bowl ads, they only get the best. Clint Eastwood’s “Halftime In America” is a Super Bowl classic.

“Farmer” – 2013

This love letter to the American farmer featured some absolutely gorgeous shots of the heartland and Ram’s powerful trucks in action. “Farmer” captured audiences’ attentions without talking animals, sexualized imagery, or childish humor usually found in Super Bowl commercials.

“America’s Import” 2014

“America’s Import” asked the question, “Is there anything more American than America?” Bob Dylan’s narration combined with the imagery of diners, Marilyn Monroe, biker gangs, and Chrysler employees hard at work was unforgettable.

2015 Chrysler 300 Being Revealed at Los Angeles Auto Show

300_ext_expand_0000_5

Chrysler has been having a streak of good luck. The revamping of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee turned out to be an extremely popular decision as the new Jeep races up the sales chart. The maker-over of the 2015 Chrysler 200 has people paying attention to the little known sedan again. There’s plenty of more products on the horizon, such as the new Jeep Renegade, and that always begs the question of what is next. It seems that next on the Chrysler agenda is the 300.

World Cars Fans is reporting that Chrysler is going to bring out the 2015 Chrysler 300 for the world to see at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Chrysler did not offer up exact details, definitely saving anything and everything for the grand reveal.

That hasn’t stopped spy photos of the 2015 300 from leaking out. While the spy photos show the 300 draped in all black attire and attempts to hide any major distinguishing features, many were quick to spot certain differences. The bumper looks modified, the headlights restyled, and the grille has changed.

Now we all must wait to see what Chrysler has in store for the next iteration of the Chrysler 300.

Chrysler, Jeep Sales Strong for July

overview_21

July was another strong month for the rebounding automaker.  Chrysler enjoyed strong sales through the month with Jeep having one of its strongest months ever.

July was a strong month for the industry as a whole.  At the current sales rate the industry is enjoying, it will be the best year since 2006 according to Bloomberg News.

“The on-again, off-again relationship is back on and the love affair goes on,” Jeff Schuster, an analyst with LMC is quoted as saying.  “It shows consumers are feeling good about the position of the economy.  Combine that with some new products and relatively low fuel prices and the magic takes over.

Jeep was not the only member of the Chrysler family to enjoy July’s sales.  The Town and Country’s sales were up by 41 percent with the best July the minivan has had since 2006.

Many factors go into what could cause such a successfully month.  The ones that Bloomberg credits the most is there being more available credit options for subprime borrowers along with lower interest rates.

Fred Diaz, Nissan’s senior VP of North American sales sees another good reason why auto sales are up.  “The reason I say that is the pent-up demand and the age of the average vehicle on the road today is still over 11 years old.  That’s going to keep us primed for moderate, steady or slow growth.
