Chrysler’s ‘Farmer’ Ad Helps Spur Ram Sales

640445561001_2135167109001_Ram-Farmer-914One of the biggest winners in terms of popularity from the Superbowl commercials was Chrysler.  Their ad campaigns have been notorious of late with quality.  One in particular, the Ram “Farmer” ad was incredibly successful.  It’s hard to gauge the effectiveness of an ad based solely on people’s response, however.  Ads are created to sell product and if all they are doing is getting likes on Facebook, then they are failing their original purpose.  So how do we truly find if the Farmer ad was a success?  February’s sales numbers have just done that work for us.

The San Francisco Chronicle shows that Ram’s sales increased in the previous month.  The figures are up 3 percent from the previous year and it’s the best February sales in six years.

Ram has been working very hard of late to be seen as the working man’s truck.  Recently, they’ve been promoting their “Ram Jam” country music concert.  The ad targeted the blue-collars out in the country who need to relay on dependable and heavy-duty machinery.  That was the message that ad presented, and with a few exceptions, was greeted with a positive response.

Stacy Finz, the writer for the San Francisco Chronicle, interviewed Greg Stern, CEO and co-founder of BSSP, an advertising firm, about the ‘Farmer” ad that Chrysler put together.  His thoughts on the commercial were, “It was a great spot.  Who doesn’t respect and root for farmers.”

New Chrysler Mini-Van Will Feature 9 Speed Transmission

ext1The future is upon us and Chrysler is gearing up to meet it head on.  The current course is that they will be released a new minivan in the time frame of 2015.  One of the features expected to be included in the design is a new part of the powertrain.  That would be a nine-speed automatic transmission.

The reasoning behind this is that car-makers are following the trend that consumers want more for less.  The more in this case is driving, the less being less gas to make that happen.  Another part of this decision is that regulations are becoming stricter.

So Chrysler is getting ready to deal with these new changes.  Back in 2011, Sergio Marchionne, the CEO of Chrysler, paid a visit to the Windsor Assembly Plant, where the Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country are made.  While he was there, he remarked that the nine-speed transmission will be in the next generation van.  Recently, he even said that the same gearbox will be added to the Dodge Dart to make it more appealing to consumers.

Chrysler is making strong strides into predicting what the car of the future is going to be.  The smart gamble will always be on the one that costs the customer less at the pump.

2013 Chrysler 300 Motown Edition: A Treat for the Ears

2013 Chrysler 300 MotownThe 2013 Chrysler 300 Motown Edition was already a fusion between Chrysler and the musical coming soon to Broadway, Motown: The Musical.

The car designers at Chrysler have brought on Motown founder Berry Gordy to make sure that the features on the Chrysler 300 Motown Edition are worthy of the pedigree of the Motown spirit.  That means the new vehicle has to do more than just look appeasing to the eyes, but also has to appeal to the ears.  To do that, a preloaded USB drive will come with the vehicle and already preloaded will be 100 of the best of the Motown classics.

All of this is meaningless, of course, unless you have a sound system worth bragging about.  Such is the case with a 10 speaker Beats Audio system with 12-channel amplifier and proprietary Beats Audio algorithm.

The vehicle will have 4 different exterior paint colors, Bright White, Gloss Black, Deep Cherry Red, and Jazz Blue.  The colors will complement the two-tone interior seats that are embossed with an “M” logo for Motown.  All the equipment inside of the Chrysler 300 Motown Edition stand out as unique and detailed thanks to the use of Piano Black for the instrument panel and surrounding parts of the interior.

For fans who appreciate a quality sound system in their choice of vehicle, this seems tailor made.  Anyone who is looking to blow people away (almost literal) when they put on music may have just found their new favorite Chrysler.  For more Chrysler vehicles, both new and pre-owned, go online to our website at Bayside Chrysler Jeep Dodge.  Like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter for more news and monthly specials.
